One of my first childhood memories, is of me trying to bake a cake at the age of Four. My parents were in another room with guests and I was determined that I was going to make a cake. I started out with a bowl, a spoon and some butter, all the essential ingredients. Then I added some vegemite and stirred and stirred and stirred. To my amazement this did not turn into a cake but merely a lot of vegemite sandwiches for a few days. Whilst my first attempt was less than successful, it was the start of a lifelong passion. A passion that I hope to share with all of you, as I believe food to be an integral part of our lives. And that a person shares a part of themselves whenever they share a meal or bite to eat with another person.

I am also an avid collector of all things old school, (my sister, not so lovingly calls this my collection of junk!) all the props are things collected over the years by either myself or my mum who is always on the hunt for me. A number of the props have been generously donated from friends who no longer want them (I know hard to imagine, who wouldn’t want them!!). My prop collection isn’t huge or anything, (well I don’t need a shed just yet). It fills a big cupboard, kind of like the lion the witch and the wardrobe cupboard, its (almost) never ending :).

This blog will be a journey of food, props, photography and other wonderful delights. I hope you will join me for the ride.
