You know how they say diamonds are a girls best friend? Well sorry but I disagree: Chocolate is a girls best friend. Who can resist, its like liquid gold. If you have been following my blog for a while you must know how much of a chocoholic I am. A week ago I was sent a whole box of chocolate by Nestle and asked if I would like to bake something. Well naturally I jumped at the chance. Miss Daisy is 1 today, HAPPY BIRTHDAY MISS DAISY, my beautiful Caravan!!! She was really built in 1945 so in theory she is also 75 – what a lady she has been around the block :)…
My book takes third place at the awards
It gives me great pleasure to let you all know that my book, A Piece of Cake has taken out the third place for the best Pastry book in the world at the Gourmand World Cookbook award held last night in Yantai, China. How Cool is that!! Not a bad spot for my first ever cookbook running against pastry books from all over the world, including france the home of pastries. The Gourmand Cook Book Awards are considered the Oscars of the Book World and I have been fortunate to be able to come to China to attend to represent my country of Birth the land of the long white cloud, Aotearoa, New Zealand. As you all probably know if you have been following my blog for a while, my book took out the Best Pastry Cookbook in New Zealand, which allowed me the great honour to be able to come to the awards.
